A brief history of SILVER...

The earliest confirmed silver mining dates back to 3000 BCE in Anatolia (modern-day Turkey).

Plates and spoons were created from silver as a status symbol amongst the wealthy. For over 6000 years, silver has been used as the predominant metal for domestic and jewellery use.

In Ancient Egypt, silver jewelry was reserved for kings, queens, pharaohs, and select others. Similarly, Silver was used almost exclusively in jewelry worn by the wealthiest men and women in the Ancient Greek period.

Caring for your SILVER...

  • Wear it often, the skin's natural oils keep it polished.

  • Keep it dry and airtight. Oxygen, moisture, and sulfur in the air cause the silver to tarnish.

  • Avoid chemicals. Such as hairspray, perfumes, lotions, and household cleaners.

  • For everyday grime, soak your jewelry for 5 - 10 minutes in a few drops of mild dish soap in warm water, gently scrub with a soft-bristled toothbrush, and rinse thoroughly and pat completely dry with a soft cloth.

  • For deeper clean, mix baking soda with a few drops of water to create a thick paste. Gently rub the paste over the jewelry using a soft cloth, then rinse well and dry.

  • For heavily tarnished silver, use the aluminum-and-boiling-water trick. Line a heat-resistant bowl with aluminum foil, shiny side up. Place the jewelry in the bowl, sprinkle generously with baking soda, and pour in near-boiling water to completely submerge the pieces.
